This November, the International Music Summit (IMS) launches in Dubai, uniting the global electronic music industry in the MENA region.
The International Music Summit (IMS), a premier platform for electronic music, is set to debut its inaugural edition in Dubai this November. For nearly two decades, IMS has been at the forefront of fostering positive transformations in the music sector through culture, education, and community initiatives. After successful editions in Ibiza and various global locations, IMS is now venturing into the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region, a hub of opportunity for the music industry.
IMS Dubai aims to cultivate ongoing growth, support, and investment while tackling the distinct cultural challenges faced by musicians and startups. The two-day summit, supported by AlphaTheta and Beatport, will take place at the W Hotel Dubai – Mina Seyahi on November 14-15, hosted by Pete Tong.
This inaugural event will showcase MENA-based speakers from YouTube, Warner Music Group, The Pacha Group, Anghami, Billboard Arabia, PopArabia, along with industry experts from Soho Garden, Groove On The Grass, and Factory People. Additionally, speakers from Tomorrowland, WME, Defected Records, HE.SHE.THEY, and the Association For Electronic Music (AFEM) will share insights into their impactful work and cross-cultural integrations.
Key discussion topics will include navigating the MENA music industry landscape, the expansion of streaming platforms, and elevating Arabic artists onto global stages. The event will also feature exclusive evening performances across the city, including a show on Thursday by local collective Duck Soup and another at Soho Garden’s Playroom dedicated to highlighting emerging female talent in the region.
IMS Dubai badges will be available for purchase starting Thursday, September 19. Discounted rates will be offered for students, individuals under 27, and People of Determination. Additionally, as part of its commitment to sustainability, 1% of proceeds will benefit IMS’ climate action partner, EarthPercent.
