Maddy shared her creative process for this new release, saying:
When I set out to write this record, I really wanted to reconnect with my roots. Thirteen years ago, when I first began making music, I had little knowledge of music theory or production. I would spend hours in record stores digging for vinyl and sampling with my drum pad. My journey started with creating hip hop beats from those vinyl records. This track is one of the first I composed while working on this full record, aiming to establish a hip hop-forward tone that blends all my influences over the years—especially those early days focused solely on beats. The right groove was my only standard of quality. This is my tribute to hip hop. I hope you all enjoy.
