Goldie to Shape Movement Detroit 2025 as Artist-In-Residence
Renowned for its revolutionary contributions to music, including Motown and techno, Detroit also celebrates a vibrant artistic culture, prominently showcased through its graffiti scene. This year, Movement Detroit collaborates with 1xRUN to announce the legendary artist and cultural icon Goldie as their Artist-In-Residence for the 2025 festival edition.
Art installations have been a key feature of the festival for several years, showcasing talents like Freddy Diaz, Kevin Lyons, and Sheefy. This year, Goldie will honor the tradition with a large-scale mural titled Love: Detroit at the Pyramid Stage, celebrating the pioneers of Detroit’s rich music heritage.
I’m bringing some proper graff to Detroit for Movement Festival. The mural is called Love: Detroit, by yours truly. I’ll be painting my love for this city’s integral musical history, standing on the shoulders of the giants who built it.
