Alesso Live at Brooklyn Storehouse: Two Sold-Out Concerts Reviewed

News

Alesso made his remarkable debut at The Brooklyn Storehouse, captivating thousands over two exhilarating nights in New York City. His stunning production and heartfelt music resonated with fans. As a long-time admirer, I find that Alesso’s shows consistently bring immense joy, showcasing an impressive blend of his golden-age progressive sound and contemporary club-ready records.

He was joined by AC Slater and John Alto, with John warming up the crowd perfectly. AC Slater had attendees moving effortlessly, showing why he is known as the godfather of Bass House. His latest track, ‘Brain On Drugs’, was a standout live performance!

The Brooklyn Storehouse is the ideal venue for dance music experiences. Recently acquired by Broadwick & TCE, this Navy Yard space has a rich history but now claims an official identity. The lighting and laser effects were exceptional, while the outstanding sound quality enhanced the atmosphere.

With its spacious warehouse layout, attendees had plenty of room to enjoy dancing. The venue features multiple bars and restrooms to minimize waiting, along with a relaxing area to hear the music while catching a breather.

Alesso

This year, Alesso has introduced a new show concept titled BODY HI, reflecting a deeper selection of underground tracks as part of his evolving house and techno project. He first showcased this innovative concept on Coachella’s renowned Do LaB stage. Earlier this year, he released the impressive Hypnotize EP, filled with vibrant tracks that caught everyone’s attention.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Alesso numerous times, yet this performance stood out as one of my favorites. However, nothing can quite match my first experience of seeing him at EDC in 2017. Alesso flawlessly blended nostalgic hits with energetic house tracks that kept the crowd electric.

His setlist included beloved classics like ‘Heroes’, his remix of ‘If I Lose Myself’, as well as tracks like ‘Calling’ and ‘Pressure’. He also showcased his recent collaboration with David Guetta in a new track that skillfully melds his vintage sound with a fresh twist. Alesso is undeniably one of the most remarkable acts within the dance music scene, and I highly recommend catching him live.
