In 2003, the iconic duo released the anime feature Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem as a visual companion to their album, Discovery. Now, after more than 20 years, this film has been stunningly remastered in 4K and will have its premiere at the United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles on September 30 in collaboration with IHEARTCOMIX.
In addition to its rare screening, the 4K remaster of Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem features an enhanced sound experience. The Los Angeles premiere promises more than just the film. Following the screening, a moderated panel discussion will take place featuring Cédric Hervet, who co-wrote the screenplay with Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, along with Pedro Winter, the duo’s former manager and founder of Ed Banger. The celebration continues with an official after-party, showcasing performances from Busy P and other surprise guests!
This remastered version of Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem is the latest release from Daft Punk after they disbanded in 2021. Since then, they have launched multiple anniversary albums, a drumless edition of Random Access Memories, a series of Memory Tapes, and much more.
