Schedule Update: Breakaway Carolina to Run from 6 PM to Midnight
This year has seen numerous music festivals impacted by inclement weather, and Breakaway Carolina is no exception. Thankfully, in this instance, the situation appears to result in only a brief delay. The organizers of the Charlotte edition of the Breakaway Music Festival have announced that the gates to the Charlotte Motor Speedway will now open at 6 PM instead of the previously scheduled 4 PM, extending the festival hours to midnight, one hour longer than initially planned.
“In light of the recent weather conditions and to ensure the festival venue is primed for a fantastic weekend, we are postponing opening and extending the show,” stated Breakaway in a post on Instagram. “Thank you for your understanding. Please keep an eye on our social media for further updates.”
Set times for day one of Breakaway Carolina have not yet been released. Featured artists on the Main Stage include Marshmello, Alesso, and Chase & Status. Other performers scheduled for The Launch Pad, which is curated by Brownies & Lemonade, include Apashe and Wax Motif.
The potential weather disruption has been on Breakaway’s radar for some time. Earlier in the week, the team posted, “We are actively monitoring the forecast for this weekend. The safety of our attendees, artists, and crew is our utmost priority, and we are collaborating with local authorities and weather experts to keep informed.”
Originally established in Columbus, Ohio, the Breakaway Music Festival made its debut at the Columbus Crew Stadium in 2013. Since then, it has rapidly expanded, with events now taking place in various locations including Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, and the Bay Area.
