Documentary Between The Beats Features Renowned DJs DJ Garth, Doc Martin, and DJ Harvey
The early ’90s rave scene in San Francisco has had a lasting impact on the dance music landscape across the United States. On October 15, enthusiasts will have a chance to dive deeper into this pivotal era with the release of the new documentary Between The Beats. The official trailer has just been unveiled, offering a glimpse into what viewers can anticipate.
This captivating two-minute trailer features vintage footage from the groundbreaking days of San Francisco’s rave culture, paired with the acid and tribal house music that defined the time, alongside insights from notable figures featured in the film. Key contributors include Doc Martin, DJ Dan, DJ Garth, DJ Harvey, DJ Jeno, Ethan Miller, Joe Haller, and Brian Behlendorf.
Produced by Gravitas Ventures and directed by Martin O’Brien, Between The Beats is a co-production with Mike Koeppel and edited by Robbie Proctor.
“Creating Between The Beats was deeply personal for me, as I was one of the individuals involved in establishing the San Francisco rave scene,” O’Brien shared. “This documentary aims to transport viewers back to an early ’90s music scene that has evolved into the globally popular EDM/electronica movement. I sought to capture the essence of those formative years and celebrate the transformational music and the vibrant energy that defined our community.”
