Los Angeles SXTCY and CLOSER Event Evacuated Due to Security Incident: What Happened?

News

In a now-deleted statement, SXTCY organizers reported that a patron was turned away and later returned with a firearm.

After a concerning incident outside an after-hours event organized by SXTCY and CLOSER in Los Angeles, the techno event was promptly evacuated, ensuring the safety of all attendees.

“We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate incident that occurred tonight,” stated SXTCY and CLOSER on their Instagram early this morning. “Our security team denied entry to an individual who was being disruptive, and sadly, the situation escalated.”

The statement further expressed gratitude: “We are incredibly thankful for our staff and security team’s quick response in safely evacuating everyone and securing the area. We are relieved to announce that everyone is safe. Your safety is our top priority, and we are committed to providing a secure environment for all.”

Notably, this statement mirrors a previous post made just moments earlier, with one crucial edit. Initially, it mentioned that the individual who was denied entry had returned armed. At the time of writing, EDM Identity is still awaiting clarification from CLOSER.

SXTCY has made a name for itself in the Los Angeles underground scene following the pandemic, hosting artists like Declan James, Lorely Mur, and Shlømo at its secretive events. Similarly, CLOSER has featured acts such as MATRAKK, TOXIC MACHINERY, and Neon Graveyard.

Both CLOSER and SXTCY have previously teamed up for various events. The lineup for last night’s gathering included WNDRLST, who was scheduled to perform an all-night set. Attendees received the event location shortly before doors opened.

This is an evolving story, and EDM Identity will update with further information as it becomes available.
