Fatboy Slim has excitingly revealed on social media that his legendary album Palookaville is now available for streaming. This includes not only the original tracks but also 18 remixes and versions that were previously unavailable digitally.
In his announcement, he noted, “Before streaming became mainstream, we featured a lot of adorable cats in a music video because who doesn’t love cute cats? Today, we have a new version of Palookaville with ‘The Joker’ featuring Bootsy Collins. All the classic album tracks, along with 18 remixes previously unreleased digitally, can now be enjoyed online.”
Originally released on October 4, 2004, Palookaville was Fatboy Slim’s fourth and final studio album. The album earned a Grammy nomination in 2006 for Best Electronic/Dance Album, showcasing his unique fusion of funky beats and electronic vibes. Notable tracks include ‘Don’t Let the Man Get You Down‘, ‘Wonderful Night‘, ‘Put It Back Together (feat. Damon Albarn), and “Slash Dot Dash.” This re-release offers remixes of these beloved classics, reinvigorating Fatboy Slim’s signature style that blends breakbeat, big beat, and funk-infused rhythms.
To celebrate the album’s impact, Brighton and Hove Albion F.C. temporarily renamed their stadium after Palookaville, emphasizing the strong ties between Fatboy Slim and his hometown of Brighton.
With the complete digital release, fans can now immerse themselves in both the original tracks and the hard-to-find remixes, giving Palookaville a revitalized presence in today’s streaming world.
