The premier publication in dance music, DJ Mag, will transition from a monthly magazine to four exclusive quarterly editions annually, starting in January 2025. This change is aimed at providing readers with a more premium and collectible experience.
Each quarterly issue will spotlight three cover stars, showcasing a diverse range of artists and enhancing the collectible aspect for readers. While subscribers will receive one of the three covers at random, all featured artists will be present in every edition. Additionally, these magazines will feature an expanded page count and higher quality paper, elevating their visual appeal and value for collectors.
The editor of DJ Mag, Carl Loben, shared his enthusiasm regarding this new chapter of the publication:
“Together with the team, I’m thrilled to lead DJ Mag into its next stage of evolution. Electronic dance music is an exciting and ever-evolving scene, now more prominent globally than ever. As the leading publication, this quarterly edition will enable us to gear up for in-depth, insightful features DJ Mag has long been known for. I can’t wait to dive in!”
-Carl Loben, DJ Mag Editor
Since its inception in 1991 to document the emerging UK rave culture, DJ Mag has established itself as a vital voice in the dance music genre. Originally a fortnightly magazine and later moving to a monthly format, this latest shift to a quarterly publication marks a critical milestone in the magazine’s development.
The quarterly issues will retail for £7.99 each at newsstands, or through a 12-month subscription for £27.99, offering over a £1 saving per issue. Existing subscribers of the monthly format will benefit from a two-year complimentary subscription to the new quarterly version.
The final monthly issue of DJ Mag will be the upcoming November Top 100 DJs edition, with the inaugural quarterly magazine set to launch in January 2025.
