Adam Beyer, the legendary Techno pioneer, is breaking new ground with his latest EP Don’t Go, released on October 11, 2024. Following the success of his acclaimed solo EP Ghost Kiss and a stunning collaboration with Vintage Culture, the Drumcode label head presents a powerful two-track release featuring innovative vocal samples and processing that add depth and vigor to the beats, making it both ethereal and profoundly human.
‘Don’t Go’
The title track begins with an atmospheric blend of hoover effects and Doppler sounds, driving forward with an intense momentum that soon transforms as a captivating vocal sample takes over—a two-line Afro-inspired chorus crafted from mixed voices that evolves into a catchy melody. Building to an exhilarating breakdown and massive drop, the call-and-response dynamic creates an addictive, triumphant energy intertwined with the rich percussion backdrop.
‘Tool Of Thought’
This track leans into a futuristic vibe, characterized by a complex percussive arrangement of clashing beats, sizzling hi-hats, and metallic bass, creating a thrillingly unnerving atmosphere. Beyer’s use of vocoders delivers a haunting vocal quality, ensuring listeners will find it impossible not to dance.
Unwilling to rest on his impressive accolades, the Techno maestro Adam Beyer continuously evolves, and the enthusiastic responses from fans during his ongoing global festival tour demonstrate that both longtime followers and new fans eagerly embrace this exciting phase of his musical journey.
About Adam Beyer
Adam Beyer is a prominent force in the Techno scene, recognized for maintaining his influence since the early ’90s. Over three decades, he has showcased unwavering innovation and expansion, performing at premier clubs and festivals globally. Beyer holds the record for over 100 appearances at Awakenings, featuring on Radio 1’s Essential Mix and Fabric’s legendary mix series, and has established three significant record labels, including the iconic Drumcode, which now dominates the Techno landscape with a syndicated radio show and massive events worldwide.
His journey began in the mid-’90s as he played a pivotal role in the rise of European Techno through his releases on Planet Rhythm Records and the Drumcode label he launched in 1996. Driven by youthful ambition, Beyer invested in his label to fast-track the release of his tracks, which rapidly propelled Drumcode into the spotlight, showcasing early works from artists like Cari Lekebusch and Marco Carola.
Today, Drumcode is synonymous with Techno, serving as a gateway for countless enthusiasts since its inception. The label boasts an impressive roster of artists and a consistently busy schedule of global events, including its own thriving festival. With over 250 releases to date, evidenced by a historic collaboration with Kevin Saunderson reviving his E-Dancer alias, Drumcode continues to honor the roots of Techno while pushing boundaries with diverse talent like Robert Hood, Amelie Lens, and TYGAPAW. As Beyer reflects, “Techno is more diverse than it’s been in a long time. The underground scene is thriving again. I started Drumcode as a counterculture movement, so it’s encouraging to see the energy in it – this youth punk feeling feeding back into Techno again.”
