Excision and Paradise Blue Festival Team Announce Cancellation of Cancún Event
Another festival faces closure, as it has been confirmed that Excision‘s Paradise Blue Festival will not be held in Cancún in 2025 after three successful years since the return of live events post-pandemic.
In social media announcements, the festival’s organizers shared, “After 3 amazing years of Paradise Blue, we won’t be returning to Cancún this spring. We’re going to miss being on the beach with all of you!”
However, the team hinted at a possible return in 2026, stating, “We’re working towards bringing the event back in 2026, so be sure to sign up for event updates on the website!”
Excision, whose real name is Jeff Abel, has been a prominent figure in the electronic music scene since 2006, transitioning from mixes to recorded music shortly thereafter. His 2011 album, X Rated, released on deadmau5’s mau5trap label, marked a significant moment in his career, leading to extensive touring and performances with the bass music supergroup Destroid, as well as solo headlining shows worldwide.
The Paradise Blue Festival is not the only event curated by Abel. His most notable festival is Lost Lands, held annually in Legend Valley, Ohio, which has become a pilgrimage for bass music fans since its inception in 2017. He also organizes Bass Canyon at The Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, Washington, along with The Thunderdome in Tacoma, Washington.
As of now, Excision has not personally commented on the cancellation of Paradise Blue Festival. He is scheduled to perform next at Apocalypse Zombie Land on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California on November 30.
