On the day prior, the Orlando Police Department announced the tragic death of an individual due to an accident at Camping World Stadium, where preparations for EDC Orlando were in progress. The festival organizer, Insomniac, has confirmed that the deceased individual was part of their staff.

Authorities received a report around 3 PM regarding the incident. “The Orlando Police Department was notified about an accident resulting in the death of an individual at Camping World Stadium,” their statement noted. “Our officers are currently conducting a death investigation. Insomniac released a statement to EDM Identity later in the day, expressing their sorrow: “We are heartbroken to confirm the loss of a cherished stagehand following a tragic accident during the event setup. Our deepest condolences go out to their family, friends, and fellow crew members.”

The statement continued: “We honor their contributions to our team and are committed to supporting everyone during this challenging time. Safety remains our utmost priority, and we are collaborating closely with authorities throughout their investigation. We mourn alongside our festival family and are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our team members.”

EDC Orlando, scheduled for November 8-10, has been held annually at the stadium-adjacent Tinker Field since its inception in 2011. Last year, the festival attracted approximately 300,000 attendees, a significant increase from the 108,000 attendees in 2022. EDC Orlando is part of Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival brand, which features its flagship festival in Las Vegas each year.
