Hi Andrew Canlon, how’s everything going?
I’m doing well, thank you.
To begin, can you share your experience at ADE this year?
It was everything I hoped for and more. The community was incredibly welcoming, and Amsterdam is such a stunning city. There’s truly nothing like it.
Was there a particular talk, performance, or workshop that stood out to you?
Bonobo was exceptional as always.
What do you think makes ADE an essential event in the Electronic Music calendar?
In today’s digital age, the chance to meet so many incredible individuals making strides in the electronic scene is invaluable.
How would you describe the overall vibe of Amsterdam during ADE week to someone who hasn’t experienced it?
It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but the energy is electrifying. There’s a genuine spirit of collaboration everywhere.
Can you share a particularly memorable moment from ADE?
I was producing a track in the lobby of the Pulitzer Hotel when a music executive who collaborates with one of my idols approached me and offered to set up a meeting with him.
Did you engage in any non-music-related activities in Amsterdam that enhanced your ADE experience?
I was lucky to have friends in Amsterdam who took my partner and me on a boat ride through the canals. It felt like a scene from a movie. It’s the perfect way to experience the city, which, as an American, is precisely what you imagine Europe to be. It was truly surreal.
How has attending ADE changed your perspective on the Electronic Music scene?
Witnessing so many passionate musicians and creators gathered in one place was incredibly impactful. I returned home feeling deeply motivated to persevere and remain true to myself and the music I love to create.
Did you meet any new individuals at ADE that you’re eager to collaborate with in the future?
Absolutely, I met several artists to discuss potential collaborations. I’ll keep their names under wraps for now until things are official.
Finally, what was the most inspiring aspect of ADE for you this year?
The most inspiring part for me was the energy and creativity of everyone I met, from artists to agents and innovators. There are so many exciting developments in the Electronic Music industry, making you feel like you’re part of something truly extraordinary.
