Hi Meetch, how are you?

Very good, guys, thanks for asking!

To start, can you tell us about your experience at ADE this year?

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! This was my second time attending, and I feel like I really made the most of it. I performed on the ADE lineup and was able to network with exactly the people I wanted to connect with. Plus, I attended some incredible shows and stayed busy every single day until the very end.

Which events or sessions stood out to you the most and why?

As it was my first time performing at ADE, the standout event for me was the HiLand event at the Offline Shoe Store. The team there was incredibly welcoming and made my debut performance at the Amsterdam Dance Event truly unforgettable.

Were there any trends or ideas that caught your attention during the conference?

The “speed dating” sessions for meeting managers and music agents were really intriguing. It was a creative way to connect with industry leaders. Although the waiting times were lengthy, the experience was enjoyable and worthwhile.

Which moment at ADE made you feel most connected to the electronic music community?

Without a doubt, the HiLand event where I performed. Being the only DJ from the USA on the lineup made it even more special. Throughout the day, I encountered amazing artists from around the globe, including some well-known names, and felt a profound connection. Networking there had a different vibe compared to the USA, and it was my favorite part of the experience.

Did you discover any emerging artists or genres during ADE that surprised or inspired you?

I had a fantastic experience discovering Liquid Drum and Bass. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I found myself in an attic at a smoke show with DJs playing Liquid Drum and Bass for hours – it was an absolute blast!

How would you say the culture and atmosphere of Amsterdam complement the energy of ADE?

The best part is the connection aspect. Meeting people from all corners of the globe creates a unique bonding experience. My time was filled with networking rather than workshops, and especially through DJing there, I gained new fans and connections. Amsterdam truly enhances the global community vibe of ADE.

What role does ADE play in the growth of electronic music, in your opinion?

ADE was crucial in helping me connect with agents and managers from around the world, enabling me to expand my reach beyond the USA. Being part of the ADE lineup also meant I was officially showcased in another country, which is a significant milestone. I believe this conference empowers EDM professionals to broaden their networks and learn, which is invaluable for growth.

Did you perform at any events for ADE this year? If so, tell us about your experience.

Yes! I was on the ADE lineup for the HiLand event on October 16th at the Offline Shoe Store. It was incredible to see a shoe store transformed into a rave, with people coming in to dance. I also performed at Prik, a small bar/club, on October 17th. While it wasn’t an official ADE event, I’ve played there several times before, so it was great to return!

Finally, what advice would you give to someone attending ADE for the first time next year?

Focus on networking opportunities more than workshops! For anyone looking to “meet the right people” instead of just learning about new trends and products, networking is key. That’s my advice based on what I sought at ADE.

As our conversation wraps up, it’s clear that ADE was an inspiring chapter in Meetch’s journey, marked by memorable performances and impactful connections. With his time in Amsterdam reinforcing his ambition, Meetch is sure to continue moving forward, promising fans more exciting projects and live shows in the near future.
