Rising star YDG sits down with EDM Identity to discuss his latest single, touring, and more.


Dubstep and experimental bass producer YDG has experienced a remarkable year. From his breakout hit “Diamonds” to the viral remix of “I Like The Way You Kiss Me” by Artemas, YDG has garnered millions of streams on various platforms, earning acclaim from fans and DJs alike. His journey reflects his determination and exceptional production skills. By April, he reached ten thousand followers on TikTok, solidifying his status in the genre.

With a growing fanbase eager to hear his tracks live, YDG has been featured at renowned festivals. His performances at Forbidden Kingdom, Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge, and Get Freaky have enhanced his credentials, but it was his 2pm circuitGROUNDS set at EDC Orlando that marked a significant milestone in his career.

“It was literally a dream come true to see so many people come to the festival at that hour,” YDG expressed. “It really proved that everything I have been working for has been recognized.”

As 2023 comes to a close, YDG continues to thrive, recently releasing his latest track “Echo” on Rezz‘s HypnoVizion label. “It has been a goal of mine to release on HypnoVizion, so to see it come to life has been an amazing feeling,” he remarked. The track showcases haunting vocals and dynamic basslines, reflecting his signature gritty sound while introducing a fresh and exhilarating feel.

I wanted a record that combined the old school dub feel with a new school energetic sound that would fit well into my festival sets. The result was “Echo.”

The year has been filled with significant achievements for YDG, including the launch of his first headline tour. The You + Me Tour began on November 14 in Charleston, South Carolina. This extensive 39-date tour will excite attendees as YDG performs his viral remixes alongside original tracks, showcasing his diverse production skills and new visuals.

Looking ahead, YDG aims to expand his creative horizons. “I would love to work with Subtronics and Skrillex if the opportunity arises,” he shared. “They are both such pioneers in the space.” While the future remains uncertain, fans can anticipate incredible sets from YDG at festivals in 2025.
