Interview with Rimbano: Insights on His Latest Track ‘Safada’

  1. Hey Rimbano, thanks for taking the time to chat with us. How are you doing today?

Hey, thank you so much for having me! I’m doing well, just left the studio after a productive session.

  1. Let’s kick things off with your latest release ‘Safada’. How has it been to see such a positive reaction to the release?

When I was making “Safada,” I didn’t expect such strong support from major DJs on international stages, but it led to a surge of pre-release hype. Many people reached out to me personally after Andruss played it at EDC Las Vegas, so I’m thrilled it’s finally available for everyone to enjoy.

  1. Released on Andruss’ Drop Low Records, how happy are you with this home for the track?

I’m ecstatic to have “Safada” released on Drop Low Records! I’ve been a fan of Andruss for a long time, and his style has greatly influenced my productions. It was an honor when he inquired about releasing the track on his label.

  1. This single, along with your previous releases, has been receiving support from some massive names. How does it feel to see your music being played by these legends?

I get excited every time I receive a video of my music being played by big names like Cloonee, Gordo, and Acraze. Recently, I’ve received dozens of videos of them playing my tracks “Safada,” “Colombiana,” and several unreleased ones. I worked hard to develop a unique sound, and I’m incredibly grateful that such prominent acts are recognizing it. It’s also amazing to see fans sending me videos showing they can identify my tracks during lengthy DJ sets.

  1. You’ve crafted your own signature style for your music. Can you tell me about how this percussive house style developed?

When I first explored Latin Tech House, I noticed that many producers were using the same sounds, which made their tracks indistinguishable. To stand out, I decided to incorporate ethnic and multicultural elements into my productions, including unique percussions and carefully chosen vocals.

  1. How important is it for you as an artist to have your own sound?

I believe it’s crucial in today’s oversaturated market. Having a distinctive sound opens up more significant opportunities for artists, whether in terms of label releases or live performances, as well as support from DJs around the globe. The more your tracks stand out in a DJ set or a label’s catalog, the more opportunities you’ll have in the industry.

  1. If you could collaborate with another DJ, who would be the perfect match for your music?

Definitely Andruss or GREG (BR). Both are leading figures in the Latin Tech House scene, and my production style complements theirs. I’m currently working on a track with GREG (BR), and we have plans for more collaborations in the future, so stay tuned!

  1. Which artists have influenced you the most as a DJ and producer?

Probably Cloonee, Gordo, and The Martinez Brothers. Their sets inspire me to create new tracks filled with groovy tunes that make you want to move. That vibe is what I aim to recreate in my sets, both live and in my “Power Rave” mix series on SoundCloud, where I showcase the hottest unreleased music from Latin Tech House producers worldwide.

  1. Thanks for taking the time to chat! Is there anything else you want to say to our readers?

Thank you so much for your support of my vision and music! I’m excited about 2025, which will be packed with new releases and international live shows that I’m currently planning. Hope to see you somewhere around the globe!
