Tromino Unveils New EP: You Move Me / Jack The Beats

Tromino is set to release his latest captivating EP, You Move Me / Jack The Beats, on December 6th. The West Midlands Producer and DJ continues to elevate the electronic music scene with tracks that stand out among the vast array of sounds available today.

With a unique musical philosophy centered around the power of three, Tromino draws inspiration from the geometric concept of a tromino, which consists of three essential elements. His signature sound combines the robust influences of Detroit techno, Chicago House, and Acid, creating a sonic experience that is greater than the sum of its parts. Esteemed artists such as Da La Swing, Joyce Muniz, Cevin Fisher, Nic Fanciulli, and Jamie Jones are just a few of the notable figures who support his innovative approach.

The first track, You Move Me, kicks off with a pulsating tribal beat and an earth-shattering bass that commands attention. As layers of rich, syncopated percussion unfold, each pattern uniquely contributes to a cohesive sound. Tromino transforms your typical samba practice into an electrifying session, using minimal synth and vocal samples to enhance the atmosphere without overwhelming it. Whether played at 33 or 45 RPM, You Move Me delivers an incredible auditory experience.

Tromino elaborates: “You Move Me is all about rolling tribal vibes with a tech-infused sound. The focus is on percussion and a smooth synth riff that ebbs and flows, teasing listeners before dropping back into the groove. This track also thrives at a higher tempo, making it feel more like techno.”

The second track, Jack The Beats, captivates listeners from the outset with a powerful drumline, soon complemented by a throbbing bass and a nostalgic vocal sample, ‘Jack, jack, jack the beats’. As the classic synths and dynamic high notes join the mix, you’ll find yourself moving instinctively. The track evokes a sense of nostalgia, prompting dancefloor-goers to reminisce about legendary house music from the early ’90s. Jack The Beats effortlessly bridges timelessness and modernity.

Tromino shares: “Jack The Beats is influenced by the Jack’in House sound, infused with a distinctive Tromino twist. It features classic drum and bass elements from the era, with quirky effects and an infectious build-up, highlighted by the iconic vocal sample ‘Jack the beats’. You Move Me / Jack The Beats is an essential addition to your home setup and club playlists, offering a beacon of energy amidst the dark winter nights. Incorporate it into your New Year’s Eve sets, and watch the crowd come alive. These two tracks exemplify how a double A-side EP should be crafted. Currently, Tromino is riding a wave of creativity, with exciting projects slated for 2025. It’s no surprise that Bill Brewster featured Tromino alongside Carl Cox in his acclaimed book, How To DJ Properly.
