‘We’ve always believed that the best music is timeless. It has a unique power that can resonate across generations. Ambient music has been a part of Anjuna and Above & Beyond since the beginning, starting with our first album ‘Tri-State.’ Including ambient tracks on our albums has always felt right to us. Music can be comforting and healing, especially living in this hectic world. It’s music that grounds us and helps us find peace. Looking back over 25 years, it’s incredible to see how many timeless pieces have emerged from our labels and how they still have that same feeling.’ – Above & Beyond

The start of a new year brings exciting changes and celebrations at Anjuna HQ. Anjunachill, previously known as Reflections, is now the third primary label under the Anjuna umbrella, showcasing the group’s ambient, downtempo, and chillout catalog.

In honor of its 25th anniversary and the launch of Anjunachill, the Anjuna label family is unveiling a brand refresh for 2025. The new design features a bespoke typeface, ‘Decima Sans,’ with the iconic ‘Anjuna A’ at its core, celebrating Anjuna’s rich heritage while providing a versatile design foundation for future growth.

In addition to the established flagship labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep—two of the most respected names in dance music—Anjunachill upholds the brand’s commitment to emotive and melodic music. While Anjuna is traditionally recognized for its quality dancefloor hits, ranging from trance and progressive to deep house, Above & Beyond’s new imprint,

Anjunachill, resides in the realms of ambient, downtempo, and chillout—genres that have a deep, interconnected history with dance music and the Anjuna brand itself.

The journey of Anjunachill began with Above & Beyond’s performance at Burning Man in 2014. A spontaneous sunset yoga set on the iconic Robot Heart stage inspired the creation of their dedicated yoga and meditation album, ‘Flow State.’

Following the success of ‘Flow State,’ the first EP in a new chillout series, ‘Reflections Vol. 1,’ was released on Anjunadeep in 2020. This marked a significant step in establishing a dedicated home for Anjuna’s chillout catalog. Officially launched in May 2022 as Reflections, the label thrived as a standalone platform for ambient and downtempo music.

In the past three years, the Reflections label has released over 250 tracks from 70+ artists, accumulating over 150 million streams. The label has put out critically acclaimed albums from artists like Mark Barrott, Cephas Azariah, Yotto, and Croquet Club, receiving widespread praise from Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, and BBC Radio 6 Music. With standout live showcases at Glastonbury and sold-out events at ADE, Reflections has cemented its reputation as a credible tastemaker in the chillout genre. Now, Anjunachill proudly carries the torch, continuing to support, discover, and nurture some of the finest talents in ambient, downtempo, and neo-classical music.

For long-time fans of Anjuna and Above & Beyond, the Anjunachill rebrand is no surprise; quieter moments have always been integral to the band’s chart-topping electronic albums. The chillout genre is one with which the Anjuna family of labels has a long-standing relationship—evident in classics from Above & Beyond albums like their debut LP title track ’Tri-State’ and ’Sun In Your Eyes’ from Group Therapy, as well as beloved fan-favorites from Andrew Bayer, Cubicolor, and Croquet Club, including the RIAA-certified Gold single ‘Don’t Leave’ from the ‘Flow State’ album in 2019.

Artist priorities for 2025 include Cephas Azariah, Mark Barrott, and newcomers Planet of Souls. Planet of Souls is the exciting new downtempo project of prolific producer Paul Rogers (of NERD, Gorillaz, and Pete Tong fame) and his close friend Tom Barlow, an expert in sound design. Anjunachill also welcomes new talents, including Anjunadeep’s Luttrell, Steven Weston, BAILE, and Cornelius SA, along with Anjunabeats’ PROFF, and new artists like South African neo-classical duo Ad Harmonium and British producer Toutounji.

Anjunachill’s inaugural release is set for January 14, featuring Above & Beyond’s new single, ‘Shall We Begin.’ This track debuted as the intro for Above & Beyond’s guest mix on the 500th episode of the Anjunadeep Edition last summer. ’Shall We Begin’ is a captivating downtempo electronic piece that takes listeners on an emotional three-minute journey. Echoing the sweeping soundscapes of their iconic ‘Flow State’ album, the track is poignant, reflective, and deeply moving. In October 2024, 15,000 fans experienced a sneak preview of ‘Shall We Begin’ as it served as the soundtrack for the mysterious ‘Anjuna 25’ teaser video played just before Above & Beyond’s headline set at the 600th Group Therapy Radio Show (ABGT600) in Mexico City. This aptly named track not only marks the beginning of the Anjunachill label but also heralds an exciting era for Above & Beyond, who are set to perform at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, this April.
