Steve Aoki Celebrates Gender Reveal with Wife Sasha Sofine at Barasti Beach in Dubai
In an unforgettable moment during his performance, Steve Aoki took the stage to announce the exciting news that he and his wife, Sasha Sofine, are expecting a child. The event featured a lively onstage gender reveal that included cake, making it a truly spectacular occasion.
Describing it as “the most important cake of my life,” Aoki shared the joyous moment on social media. In a video posted online, he can be seen inviting Sofine to join him on stage during his Saturday show at Barasti Beach in Dubai. “This is a special moment. This is my wife, and we’re having a baby,” he told the crowd, who erupted in cheers.
Aoki continued, “We’re going to find out if it’s a boy or if it’s a girl.” A stagehand then presented a cake to Sofine, adorned with “Aoki” written in frosting. In a playful twist, she smashed the cake into Aoki’s face, revealing blue frosting as the words “IT’S A BOY” lit up on the LED screen behind them.
Steve Aoki, son of the late Hiroaki Aoki, founder of the Benihana restaurant chain, launched his record label Dim Mak in 1996. His debut DJ mix compilation, Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles, was released in 2008. Aoki rose to international fame between 2010 and 2012 through rigorous touring.
Previously, Aoki was married to Tiernan Cowling from 2015 to 2018. His recent marriage to Sasha Sofine took place in July 2024 in Montenegro. The couple has not disclosed a due date for their baby.
Looking ahead, Steve Aoki is set to continue his tour with upcoming performances at Festival Carnauol in São Paulo, HQ2 Nightclub in Atlantic City, and EDC Mexico in Mexico City, alongside numerous shows as part of his residency at OMNIA Nightclub in Las Vegas.
