Hi LUCRE, how are you?
I’m well, thank you! I appreciate the opportunity to chat!
Can you tell us how the idea for this track first came to you?
I’ve been interested in creating minimal Techno tracks that incorporate Hip-Hop or Rap vocals. It’s a unique blend that offers listeners a fresh perspective, allowing them to connect with lyrics while preserving the essence of Techno.
Can you walk us through your production process for ‘My $h!t’? What was the first element you started with, and how did the track evolve?
My main focus was selecting an aggressive, gritty Rap vocal. I then decided to pair it with a choir vocal, which was an unconventional choice but provided an interesting contrast. Once the vocal elements were established, the rest of the track developed organically. I aimed to create something distinctive for a Techno track, and I believe I achieved that unique sound.
The dark, textural synths are crucial in the track. How did you create these sounds?
I often use samples when they align with my vision. When I find a sample I like, I utilize a specific set of “trademark” plugins and audio effects in Ableton to shape the sound. These tools help me capture the dark, industrial vibe I’m drawn to, adding depth and richness to the track.
What tools or plugins were essential in producing ‘My $h!t’?
I can’t divulge all my secrets!
What was your approach to arranging the track’s structure and maintaining its flow? How did you ensure it remained engaging for listeners?
Once the vocal is in place, I tackle the track from beginning to end. I start with the intro—especially for the extended version, which tends to be more elaborate—and work through to the conclusion. If I can complete a track in one session, it usually indicates that I’m satisfied with it. Conversely, frequent revisions often suggest I’m not connecting with it, which likely means listeners won’t either.
The driving beat is a vital element. How does it influence the overall energy of ‘My $h!t’?
The kick is fundamental in Techno, and it’s essential for me that it hits HARD every time!
Did you explore any new techniques or sounds while creating this track?
The combination of the choir vocal with the Rap vocal was a fresh approach for me. It’s an unconventional pairing, but I’m thrilled with the outcome.
How does this track illustrate your growth as an artist since starting your career in 2020?
People often say the music made early in one’s career isn’t the best, and looking back, I can certainly see my evolution! Growth is a crucial element of the journey. I didn’t hesitate to release my work, and I’m proud to demonstrate how my sound has developed over time. The progress is evident when comparing my current music to where I began.
Have you had the chance to perform the track live yet? If so, how was it received?
Not yet, but I will be soon!

2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for me. I plan to release music more frequently, possibly even beyond the usual pace, as I want my work to reach a wider audience. I have some exciting projects in the works that I’m eager to unveil!
