Tyler Roberts-Emmanuel Convicted of Murder in South London Nightclub Shooting
Tyler Roberts-Emmanuel, a 19-year-old man, has been found guilty of murdering Shaquille Graham outside the Silks nightclub in Catford, South London, over a year ago. The conviction was handed down by the Central Criminal Court.
Evidence presented during the trial revealed that Roberts-Emmanuel approached Graham, 30, in the early hours of March 10 and shot him in the throat using a handgun. Investigators uncovered that Roberts-Emmanuel had conducted a reconnaissance on a scooter shortly before the incident, suggesting a premeditated act.
Prosecutor Joel Smith KC described the events: “Upon arrival, he circled the vicinity, seemingly searching for a target. He lay in wait across from the club. After 20 minutes, he spotted Mr. Graham and proceeded. He dismounted the scooter, approached Mr. Graham, and without hesitation, shot him through the throat.”
“Mr. Graham stood no chance,” Smith added. “He collapsed and died instantly.”
Key evidence linking Roberts-Emmanuel to the murder included the specific scooter, a Kaboo Wolf Warrior 11, which he attempted to acquire the prior month. Additionally, mobile phone records confirmed his presence at the crime scene during the time of the shooting.
During the trial, Roberts-Emmanuel claimed that the shooter was a relative whose identity he would not disclose. He mentioned that they had been residing at his grandmother’s address, which he left from before the murder took place.
Silks nightclub, which opened its doors in 2020, features a main dancefloor and a lounge area, hosting performances from artists such as Supa D, Pioneer, DJ Vibes, and Mark Radford.
Tyler Roberts-Emmanuel is currently awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for April 4.
