Kami Carpenter Convicted in Murder of Cody Fisher at Birmingham’s CRANE Nightclub — His Mother and Aunt Now Face Charges
Kami Carpenter‘s mother, Jahzeen Carpenter, and aunt, Nadine Taylor, have been charged with aiding him in evading punishment for his involvement in the murder of Cody Fisher at the CRANE nightclub in Birmingham in 2022.
In March of this year, Kami Carpenter and accomplice Remy Gordon were found guilty of murdering Fisher during a violent episode on Boxing Day 2022. Both were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Birmingham Crown Court in April. Additionally, a third defendant, Reegan Anderson, received an 18-month sentence for a lesser offense of affray.
The names of Carpenter’s mother and aunt were not disclosed during the trial. However, they appeared before magistrates recently facing charges of assisting an offender, and both have been released on bail pending further proceedings.
Cody Fisher was a talented semi-professional football player and a physical education teacher. On the night of the incident, he was at a crowded event at CRANE with his girlfriend, Jess Chatwin, and close friend, Dan Vann, where renowned DJ Marco Carola performed.
Reports indicate that Fisher accidentally brushed past Gordon during the event. That same evening, Gordon made threats in a Snapchat group chat to confront Fisher and “shank him up.” He was later involved in a discussion regarding how to smuggle weapons and masks into the venue. Tragically, the altercation escalated, leading to Fisher being beaten and stabbed, which resulted in a fatal wound to his heart. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
As of now, specific details regarding Jahzeen Carpenter and Nadine Taylor’s involvement following the murder have not been made public. The two are scheduled to appear in the Wolverhampton Crown Court on October 8.
