Event Organizers in Guadalajara and Mexico City Announce John Digweed’s Cancellation Due to Illness
John Digweed has unfortunately had to withdraw from his performances scheduled for Guadalajara today, September 26, and Mexico City tomorrow, September 27, as he is reportedly being treated for pneumonia in Los Angeles.
The news was initially shared by the Bar Americas venue in Guadalajara this afternoon. They announced that Digweed had “been hospitalized since Monday,” leading to the postponement of his gig. Organizers expressed that they were initially waiting for Digweed to address his situation personally, but opted to make the public announcement due to the number of fans traveling from outside the city for the sold-out event.
Similarly, the Mexico City promoter Cookie Presenta, which had arranged a back-to-back set featuring Digweed and his longtime partner Sasha, released a statement sharing their disappointment. “We regret to inform you that John Digweed is currently hospitalized in Los Angeles, and his condition is delicate and uncertain,” they stated. “He started feeling unwell and assumed it was a temporary issue. Our concern is heightened by the fact that he cannot make a personal announcement regarding his health.”
Bar Americas has assured fans they can either attend a rescheduled date or opt for a refund. Cookie Presenta is providing similar options while also offering a 60% discount to attendees who choose to see Sasha perform solo.
As of now, John Digweed is still expected to perform at SILO in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, September 28, with no official updates regarding his health status from the event organizers at this time.
