Printworks stands as one of London’s premier superclubs and a must-visit destination for dance and electronic music enthusiasts globally. Recently, DJ Mag reported that Printworks has secured approval for its redevelopment planning application, submitted by property developers British Land and AustralianSuper earlier this year. This move aims to transform the venue into a permanent hub for “cultural use”. The last events at Printworks occurred in Spring 2023, culminating in a notable farewell party on May 1, featuring renowned artists like Bicep, Peggy Gou, Dixon, and DJ Koze.
The developers initially proposed a major overhaul of the 53-acre Surrey Quays site where Printworks is located, aiming to add luxury apartments, retail spaces, offices, and dining establishments. Fast forward to today, the recent planning approval signals a promising and unforgettable revival for Printworks. The Night Time Industries Association has expressed its enthusiasm regarding the redevelopment, with a statement from CEO Michael Kill highlighted below.
