An auction featuring personal items belonging to the iconic DJ Avicii has successfully raised nearly three-quarters of a million dollars ($750,000) for charity. This remarkable sale took place in Stockholm at Auktionsverk on Tuesday in front of an enthusiastic crowd and included over 260 items such as clothing, instruments, and cherished memorabilia.
Bidders from around the globe participated, with at least 40 countries represented. A standout piece, a 2015 Fender Telecaster, fetched a striking SEK 240,000 (approximately $23,000). Other highly sought-after items included a Martin acoustic guitar, premium headphones, a Miami Marlins cap, and a contact sheet of portraits by renowned photographer Mark Seliger.
All proceeds from this auction will benefit the Tim Bergling Foundation, created in memory of Avicii. The foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues and suicide prevention among younger generations.
Cecilia Gave, CEO of Stockholms Auktionsverk, expressed her delight at the auction’s success and the Foundation’s ability to resonate with youth. Many fans expressed their joy over acquiring Avicii’s personal items, with one fan eager to showcase the leather jacket he purchased in his music studio.
