Orbital is set to release A Beginner’s Guide on November 8, available in LP, CD, and digital formats. This compilation is an ideal entry point into the innovative sound of the renowned UK electronic music duo, consisting of brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll.
Covering over three decades, A Beginner’s Guide highlights pivotal moments from Orbital’s storied discography. The collection features iconic tracks such as “Chime,” “Belfast,” and “Halcyon,” in addition to beloved fan favorites like “Lush 3.1.” This anthology also includes standout tracks such as “Beached,” a collaboration with film score legend Angelo Badalamenti, alongside recent singles like “Ringa Ringa” and “Dirty Rat” (featuring Sleaford Mods). The CD edition uniquely contains five bonus tracks, including “Doctor?”—their breaks-laden version of the classic Doctor Who theme.
After reuniting with London Records, Orbital has launched the anthology 30 Something, which features remixes and reinterpretations, along with their highly praised studio album Optical Delusion. Earlier this year, they reissued their acclaimed debut album, known as The Green Album, which garnered significant attention from music critics.
The Green + Brown Album Tour has seen Orbital leading the line-up at major music festivals including Coachella and Glastonbury. The tour will continue this fall with performances across the US, followed by European dates in 2025, ending with a highly anticipated concert at the O2 Academy Brixton in London on April 5.
