“No more IV’s,” John Digweed reflects in his first Instagram update since hospitalization.
John Digweed captured the attention of his fans when news emerged that he had to cancel multiple performances due to his hospitalization. However, a recent Instagram post from the prominent UK progressive house DJ indicates that he is on the mend.
The message, written in the first person, signifies a more personal touch compared to the previous announcement made by his team. “No more IV’s,” he stated. “I would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses who have taken amazing care of me over the last 10 days; they have been truly amazing, especially being so far from home.”
He further expressed gratitude: “Thanks for all the kind words and support. It really helped me get through my time in hospital.”
While John Digweed has not elaborated on the details of his illness or potential tour cancellations, he recently called off three shows in Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Dallas. Upcoming on his calendar are a Friday, October 11 performance at Camden Roundhouse in London and a Wednesday, October 16 gig at Bar Bistro Bureau in Amsterdam, aligning with the start of Amsterdam Dance Event.
As a renowned figure in the progressive house scene since the early ’90s, John Digweed is known for his back-to-back performances with fellow DJ Sasha, particularly at the well-regarded London event brand Renaissance. The two artists resumed their collaborations in 2016 after focusing on solo careers for years. Digweed’s cancelled Guadalajara and Dallas shows were slated to feature back-to-back sets with Sasha.
The team at EDM Identity hopes for a swift recovery for John Digweed, allowing him to continue mesmerizing dance music fans around the world.
