News

BCee’s latest release, These Are The Days, invites listeners to explore a vocal-rich sound journey, blending melodic elements with nostalgic hip-hop influences.

Renowned drum and bass artist and Spearhead Records founder BCee stands as an iconic figure in the UK music scene. With a prolific career spanning over two decades and a wealth of experience crafting unforgettable sounds, he has significantly influenced the genre. Today, BCee continues this legacy with the launch of his eighth studio album, These Are The Days.

These Are The Days features an impressive collection of 13 tracks, showcasing talented collaborations with various artists. Earlier this summer, BCee teased this project with the release of the captivating single, “Gamble,” featuring Jaevon and Abi Flynn, which elegantly set the stage for the album’s vibrant soundscapes. The overarching theme of the album is one of pure positivity, with lyricists illuminating each track and enhancing the joyful vibes.

My goal was to delve into songwriting and drum & bass in a fresh way. Unlike my previous albums, every song here features full vocals from various artists. The title ‘These Are The Days’ embodies a duality: it celebrates our best moments while acknowledging these are the only days we have. Whether relishing the good or navigating challenges, it’s about embracing the now and making it count.

The vocalists featured throughout the album bring it to life, while BCee perfectly crafts the beats that complement their artistry.

The album opens with the title track, featuring vocalist Zara Kershaw, which launches the project with a tranquil and shimmering quality. This song encapsulates the essence of the album, making it an ideal introduction to These Are The Days. Starting with such an outstanding track naturally compels listeners to continue through the collection.

Vocal talent shines throughout the album, with standout contributions from notable artists like Liam Bailey, Catching Cairo, and SOLAH, whose euphoric vocals enhance every track they lend their voices to. Interspersed with the ethereal liquid sounds of These Are The Days are a few hip-hop-inspired beats, including “Say It Ain’t So” featuring T.R.A.C. and “Stepping Stones” with Tempza. These warm, uplifting tracks provide a refreshing change of pace while maintaining BCee’s cohesive storytelling.

The closing track, “Colours” featuring Abi Flynn, stands out as another highlight that beckons repeat listens. BCee’s smooth jazz-inspired elements intertwine with sunny melodies, creating a nostalgic DNB experience that feels timeless.

BCee’s These Are The Days is now available across all platforms, so make sure to check it out on Spotify or your favorite music platform to enjoy this remarkable collection.
