Jack Revill, popularly known as Jackmaster, passes away in Ibiza due to accidental head injury complications, family reports.

Jack Revill, acclaimed in the electronic dance music scene as Jackmaster, has tragically passed away in Ibiza on October 12, at the age of 38.

A heartfelt statement was released by Revill’s family via his Instagram, confirming the news and attributing his death to “complications arising from an accidental head injury,” while refraining from providing further details on the incident.

“His family — Kate, Sean, and Johnny — are completely heartbroken,” a portion of the statement reads. “They are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and fans but kindly ask for privacy as they navigate their immense grief during this incredibly difficult time.”

Starting his journey in music at the age of 14 in the Glasgow record shop Rubadub, Revill quickly made his mark. By 17, he had secured a residency at the local techno venue Monox. In 2007, he launched his inaugural label and event brand, Dress 2 Sweat. In a 2016 interview with DMY, he remarked, “Working in Rubadub naturally led me to start my own label.”

However, it was the Numbers label, created alongside Calum and Neil Morton, that became a pivotal part of his legacy, featuring early hits like “Bipp” by the late SOPHIE and “Far Nearer” by Jamie xx.

Revill distinguished himself as one of the few electronic artists primarily recognized for his DJing expertise rather than his recordings. His latest single, “Nitro” featuring Kid Enigma, is set for an early 2024 release.

Known to stir controversy, Revill was candid about his recreational substance use and had a reputation for being a party enthusiast. In 2018, he publicly apologized after allegations of inappropriate behavior towards staff during the Bristol festival, Love Saves The Day.

At EDM Identity, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Jackmaster’s family and loved ones during this profoundly challenging time.
