“Born To Love Ya”: A Genre-Blending Masterpiece
The collaboration on ‘Born To Love Ya’ showcases a unique blend of genres. The song powerfully illustrates how love transcends boundaries, featuring the talents of an Italian dance producer, a Jamaican dancehall artist, and a Dominican reggaeton singer.
Gabry Ponte’s signature electronic production shines through with punchy beats and melancholic piano chords reminiscent of the early 2000s dance sound, creating the perfect backdrop for Sean Paul’s recognizable vocals. As the energy builds, Natti Natasha’s dynamic contributions enhance the jubilant chorus, resulting in a captivating collaboration that merges Paul’s deeper tones with Ponte’s catchy melodies.
This universal love anthem transcends genres, emerging as a heartfelt track that resonates globally. With its blend of vintage dance energy, infectious pop hooks, and passionate Latin flair, “Born To Love Ya” is poised to capture hearts worldwide and leave a lasting impression.
Gabry Ponte shares:
“When I first got the dance hall demo of this song by Toby Gad and Sean Paul, I knew there was something magical about it. I arranged a studio session with my friend Giacomo Uber and the German songwriter Lavinia Hope, and we rewrote the chorus. Then we pitched the song to Natti Natasha, and she loved it; everything fell into place.”
Sean Paul adds:
“Working with Toby Gad to write the song was awesome; he is a fantastic producer. Gabry Ponte took it to another level. At first, I was the only vocalist on the track, but then I thought, let’s bring someone else in, and Natti Natasha’s contribution was perfect. Now we have this massive tune. Also, look out for the dancehall remix, produced by my label, Dutty Rock Production.”
