Martin Garrix Crowned Top DJ for Fifth Time at AMF in Amsterdam

Acclaimed DJ, producer, and label head Martin Garrix has made waves in the electronic dance music scene over the last decade. Following the massive success of his iconic track “Animals,” the Dutch sensation has emerged as a leading figure in the industry, amassing numerous awards and accolades. Among these, he has once again clinched the top position in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs annual ranking, marking his fifth win after previously securing the title four times in the last nine years.

Garrix has usurped David Guetta, who held the number one spot for three out of the last four years. His latest victory comes on the heels of an impressive 2024, highlighted by a remarkable residency at Ushuaïa Ibiza, standout performances at major festivals globally, and a series of chart-topping hits that garnered millions of streams. This achievement aligns Martin Garrix with Armin van Buuren, both artists now recognized as the most decorated in the history of the Top 100 DJs poll.

“I’m in the list with all my idols — I look up to Armin, I look up to Tiësto. To be in there with those guys is very surreal. My biggest worry when I entered the list, and topped [it], was that it could only go downhill from here, so it’s very special we’re back at the No.1 spot.”

The remainder of the top ten DJs includes renowned names from the electronic music world. David Guetta and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike secured the second and third positions, respectively, while Alok and Timmy Trumpet followed in fourth and fifth place. Armin van Buuren, AFROJACK, FISHER, Vintage Culture, and Peggy Gou rounded out the sixth to tenth spots. Notable placements also include Hardwell at 11th, Charlotte de Witte at 16th, and Anyma as the highest new entry at 17th.

Newcomer Sara Landry made an impact by debuting at 75th place, showcasing her hard techno sound that has resonated with many fans. Interestingly, despite the growing popularity of harder styles in the scene, this year marks the first time since 2000 that no pure hardstyle acts appeared on the Top 100 DJs list.

The DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Awards show took place at Johan Cruyff ArenA during AMF in Amsterdam, where Martin Garrix was honored in front of a crowd of 40,000 attendees. A simultaneous broadcast on YouTube allowed dance music enthusiasts around the globe to experience the event. This year’s ceremony also partnered with UNICEF UK, aiming to raise awareness and create a better future for children worldwide.
