MARAUDA Cancels November Shows for Mental Health Break
Fans of MARAUDA who were eagerly anticipating his performances in November will need to adjust their plans. The Australian DJ and producer has announced the cancellation of nearly all his shows for the month to prioritize his mental health and family time.
In a heartfelt message shared on his Instagram Story, MARAUDA, whose real name is Hamish Prasad, expressed the need for a break, stating, “I’m canceling shows from November 1-28 and I’m really sorry to anyone who was excited.” He attributed the decision to the demanding nature of touring.
His final performance before the hiatus will occur at The Brooklyn Monarch in New York City tonight, October 31. The canceled dates include a show at JJ’s Live in Fayetteville, Arkansas on November 7, a concert at Shrine Social Club in Boise on November 15, a gig at Mesa Amphitheatre in Mesa, Arizona on November 16, and back-to-back appearances at BOXPAC Project in Salt Lake City on November 22-23. Prasad will return to the stage at Apocalypse Zombieland in Long Island, California on November 29.
Initially known as Elephant Man, Prasad gained significant recognition in the heavy dubstep scene with tracks like “Warlords” in 2015 and “Casket” in 2018 after rebranding as Mastadon. In 2019, he faced legal challenges from a prominent metal band sharing the same name, which led him to adopt the name Marauda.
Fortunately for his fans, it seems the wait for his return will not be long. “Your support means the world, and I’m looking forward to getting back to writing music,” he shared. “To anyone who has ever supported my work, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
