Discover Gina Jeanz’s Latest Afrohouse Single ‘Emoko’

Namibian producer and DJ Gina Jeanz is set to release her new afrohouse track, ‘Emoko‘, on December 6th via Temper Tone. This track marks the first of four anticipated releases from Gina’s upcoming EP, Lifetime In A Dance, which will be available on December 13th.

Emoko’ is a captivating afrohouse DJ tool featuring a rhythmic blend of deep, organic drums that create an infectious danceable groove. While it appears simple at first glance, the track is enriched with a complex array of percussion, hypnotic vocal recordings, and nuanced sound design that together create a vibrant atmosphere.

Following her well-received September single ‘Light My Fire’, which gained significant airtime on BBC Radio 1 and KISS, Gina Jeanz recently released an exclusive track titled ‘Step 2 House’ on Bandcamp, merging the afrohouse sound with house music elements. This year, her track ‘Take Me’ was remixed by Manqo and has drawn attention from prominent acts like Keinemusik.

With the release of ‘Emoko’, Gina caps off a remarkable year. In October, she performed at ADE alongside notable artists such as Killamanjaro, VANCO, and Damian Lazarus, and also hosted a DJ workshop in collaboration with Pioneer DJ. Earlier, in July, she supported renowned South African afrotech artist Shimza at his Cercle event held at the Citadel de Sisteron in France (CLIPS HERE).

Gina Jeanz has gained recognition for her innovative productions and genre-blending performances, fusing Afro House with electronica and elements from the Namibian music scene. With a classical music background and experience in Cape Town’s vibrant music landscape, her debut album Lucid Theory was featured on Billboard‘s Best New Dance Tracks of 2021 for her work on the track ‘100ml’ (STREAM HERE). Her global performances include festivals such as Montreux Jazz, UNUM, and prestigious venues like Amnesia Ibiza and KOKO. Her music has been supported by platforms like Beatport, BBC 1xtra, and DJ Mag, and she actively advocates for women in the music industry, paving the way for Namibian and African electronic artists on a global scale.
