Spotify Dominates Streaming with Drum ‘n’ Bass Resurgence

As the leading music streaming platform, Spotify has become a central hub for artists and fans alike, especially in the realm of electronic music. Recent data indicates a remarkable growth trend for a particular genre: Drum ‘n’ Bass.

Since 2021, Spotify has witnessed an impressive 94% increase in Drum ‘n’ Bass streams, with a significant portion of listeners aged 34 and younger, representing 68% of the audience. This resurgence is primarily driven by prominent UK artists such as Chase & Status, Bou, and Rudimental, who have all ranked among the top 10 most-streamed artists in the genre. To commemorate this growing interest, Spotify has launched a short documentary to highlight the genre’s influence.

Titled DnB: In For Life, this documentary aims to be a “love letter” to the Drum ‘n’ Bass genre and its worldwide impact. It features interviews with influential figures like Charlie Tee, Flight, Kanine, and S.P.Y., who delve into the genre’s rich history and cultural significance. As more producers innovate within the genre, fans can anticipate an even greater presence of Drum ‘n’ Bass in the music scene in the years to come.
