**KELTEK Reflects on His Debut Album Music Is Magic, His Hardstyle Journey, and Advice for New Artists**

Dutch hardstyle artist KELTEK made waves in the music scene seven years ago when he became a solo artist. While fans may recall his previous legendary alias, those days are now cherished memories. Today, KELTEK has captured the hardstyle community with his unique sound, blending powerful melodies with ethereal soundscapes and unforgettable kicks.

In June, KELTEK performed at the Defqon.1 Weekend Festival, showcasing his debut album, Music Is Magic. The response was phenomenal, with thousands of hard dance fans eager for the album’s official release. KELTEK finally fulfilled their anticipation by releasing the album exclusively through Scantraxx in late November 2024.

Music Is Magic is arguably KELTEK’s most comprehensive project yet. It highlights the sounds fans adore while introducing a fresh edge to his production style. Rawstyle enthusiasts can enjoy the intense beats of “Cage (Feed Them The Rage)” featuring Unresolved, as well as “To The Limit” with Act of Rage. To start, let’s rewind a bit. The KELTEK project has been part of the hardstyle scene for seven years now. Can you take us back to what you felt when you first announced your return to hardstyle?

It felt exhilarating! I was stepping into something new and exciting, with the chance to showcase my true and personal creations. Naturally, I felt a bit nervous since it was my first time performing solo, and the “all eyes on me” effect was quite daunting. However, it was a positive pressure, driven by my love for hardstyle, which ultimately drew me back into the scene.

Since then, the fans have embraced the KELTEK project, helping you become one of the top acts in the genre. Reflecting on the past seven years, what do you believe was the key factor in why fans accepted KELTEK and your musical direction?

Being the “new guy” naturally piques curiosity. I think I was fortunate to harness that momentum effectively, even though I wasn’t entirely sure what “right” meant at the time. I trusted my instincts and created music that felt significant to me.

What stood out was my ability to produce thematic tracks featuring emotional melodies and vocals that evoke a sense of triumph. My aim is always to create something that resonates with listeners long after they hear it. Additionally, my rich-sounding kicks and leads, which balance warmth and intensity, seem to connect well with audiences.

Now, let’s talk about your debut album, Music Is Magic. What does the title signify for you regarding your journey in the music industry?

To me, music is akin to magic. It possesses the power to unite people, evoke emotions, and forge memories. This is precisely what I intended to convey with the album title. It’s a tribute to the transformative power of music.

The album features many euphoric hardstyle influences and classic hardstyle elements in the opening track. What are your thoughts on the resurgence of euphoric hardstyle this year? Do you believe it will dominate as it once did?

Absolutely. There’s always a cycle, and euphoric hardstyle will return, perhaps not in the same form, but the appreciation for melodic hardstyle is on the rise. It seems to be gaining traction, but it’s hard to predict when it will fully take off. Personally, I’m excited about it.

Music Is Magic also features your first collaboration with Ran-D, titled “Never Change.” Why did it take so long for you two to collaborate, given that you’ve known each other for over 20 years?

Our styles have always been somewhat different, and the timing never seemed right. This moment in the scene felt perfect for us to finally join forces. I’m grateful we waited, as it allowed us to create something truly exceptional.

How did the production process differ from your usual tracks, considering your long-standing friendship with Ran-D but never having worked in the studio together?

It was remarkably smooth. Ran-D and I share a similar level of experience, and our individual skills complement each other well. Collaborating with him enabled me to explore a harder, more aggressive style, which isn’t typically my approach. It was refreshing to push my boundaries and create something different.

You included a remix of “Through The Night” by ERABREAK on your album. Why did you feel it was important to showcase this emerging talent in your debut project?

Even before I got to know ERABREAK, he produced an incredible remix right after joining Scantraxx. Whether an artist is new or seasoned, quality is what matters. It was actually my manager’s idea to feature it, and I’m glad he did. If I can help someone launch their career, I’m more than happy to do so.

Additionally, you collaborated with D’ort on your first-ever Frenchcore track, “Final Call.” What discussions or situations led to this foray into the 200 BPM genre?

I’ve wanted to experiment with this style for some time, and D’ort seemed like the ideal collaborator. He’s an exceptionally talented producer who is still somewhat under the radar, which I found intriguing. It was all about stepping outside my comfort zone and embracing something bold and new.

This album coincides with a significant moment in your life, as you’ve recently welcomed twins (congratulations!). You seem to balance your personal and professional life gracefully; what advice can you share with other artists about maintaining this balance?

Thank you! My advice is straightforward: where there’s a will, there’s a way. It’s about determination and staying true to your goals. At 17, I vowed to pursue music until I could make a living from it. Whether I achieved massive success or not, I was committed to making it my full-time career.

Now, as both a father and artist, I’ve learned the importance of priorities and finding a balance that works for you. Being present in both your personal and professional life is achievable; it just requires focus on what truly matters.
