How would you describe your journey into music? Can you share some of your earliest influences from when you were growing up in Brazil?
From a young age, music was a significant part of my life. My father had large speakers and a vast collection of CDs that he played at full volume, creating unforgettable dance moments in our living room. Later, my stepdad introduced me to classic rock bands like Pink Floyd, and I even have three of their albums tattooed on me! Growing up in a region where electronic music thrived, my first visit to an underground nightclub at age 12 solidified my passion for house music.
Within the scene, what or who has impacted you as an artist and drawn you to the music you create today?
Solomun is the most significant influence on my career. His innovative performances have inspired me for years. CamelPhat also plays a crucial role in my production style, thanks to their unique blend of deep, heavy sounds. Additionally, Vintage Culture has been a major inspiration, particularly for his willingness to reinvent himself continuously.
You’re currently residing in Los Angeles, a major dance music hub. What do you love most about the scene there? Is there anything you find challenging?
Los Angeles is a city of expression, allowing people to showcase their creativity in various art forms. The city’s diversity is incredibly inspiring and has significantly influenced my artistic journey. Honestly, I have no complaints about living here.
Last month was a milestone for you, with tracks played by artists like Solomun and CamelPhat. How does it feel to receive such support from your idols?
It’s hard to put into words! [Laughs] It’s something I’ve aspired to for a long time, and it feels surreal to have my inspirations supporting my music. I hope this trend continues; it’s genuinely amazing.
Can fans expect to hear tracks like “Batucada” released soon?
Absolutely! Fans can look forward to “Batucada” and many other tracks set for release in 2025. I receive daily inquiries about my music, and it excites me. I can’t wait to share everything I’ve been working on!
Tell us about Groove Society Records! What inspired you to create this label? What can we expect in 2025?
Groove Society Records aims to explore various forms of art, not just music. I paused the label to focus on my solo career, but I plan to relaunch it in 2025, featuring talented artists I admire. The label will embrace all genres, reflecting my own eclectic style, and I can promise that we will only release standout tracks.
As the electronic music scene evolves rapidly, what are your thoughts on its future? Any predictions?
The growth of electronic music, in terms of both releases and fan engagement, is a positive trend. As more people connect with this genre, new opportunities will arise for everyone involved. While the competition is intensifying, I believe there is space for diverse artists. Those who focus on emotional and original expression will resonate more deeply in this crowded market.
What was your “peak and pit” of 2024 — a high point and a low point?
The highlight of my year was definitely having Solomun play my tracks, along with some other surprises I can’t reveal yet. On the downside, I’ve faced many lessons but nothing particularly negative.
Lastly, what are you looking forward to in 2025? Any specific goals?
I anticipate 2025 to be a highly productive year. I’ve been working on various projects and can’t wait to unveil them. While I don’t have specific goals, I would love to perform at renowned festivals and release music through labels I respect.
