Anyma’s Spectacular End Of Genesys Show at Sphere Las Vegas: A Glimpse into the Future of Dance Music

When Anyma announced his multi-night residency, The End Of Genesys, at the newly opened Sphere in Las Vegas, I knew I had to attend. Fast forward to a chilly winter evening, and I found myself in a Lyft, excitement bubbling as I headed to the venue. While I had missed previous nights due to scheduling conflicts, the final night felt like the ultimate prize, and I was eager for the experience ahead.

Entry was seamless, and I entered the expansive venue within minutes, ready to explore. Merch tables, bars, and an array of food options filled the multi-level space. Although initially overwhelming, I quickly navigated my way around. With my seat located on the 200 level, I took a few escalator rides to reach the landing area, where I peered out at the Sphere before grabbing a drink.

The view inside transported me to the opera house on Coruscant from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, an apt comparison for the stunning design. The crowd was equally delightful, with a mix of electronic music enthusiasts ranging from glitzy Vegas attire to comfy rave jerseys. Conversations buzzed with excitement over shared experiences from previous shows and their Afterlife adventures.

As I settled into my seat on the 200 level, I found myself between groups from the UK, France, and Germany, all of whom had flown in specifically for this final night. Their anticipation for a show that justified their ten-hour flights was palpable. Spoiler Alert: It absolutely did.

The Energy Kicks Up with CamelPhat’s Performance

As Layton Giordani kicked off the night with his opening set, the atmosphere was friendly; however, it was CamelPhat that truly ignited the energy. Their powerful soundscapes perfectly complemented the stunning visuals that showcased the venue’s capabilities. They opened with a Pryda ID and then unleashed a flurry of tracks, sending the crowd into a frenzy, particularly with Pontifexx’s Remix of Hans Zimmer’s “S.T.A.Y.” and Tiesto’s “Lethal Industry.” Their set culminated with “Breathe,” featuring Jem Cooke’s ethereal vocals, making for a memorable finale.

The Anticipation Builds for Anyma’s Performance

Anyma’s Performance Exceeds Expectations

Despite having seen numerous videos beforehand, the live experience of Anyma’s Sphere set surpassed my expectations. While the performance followed a consistent tracklist from previous nights, the artistry behind the show—crafted as a four-part electronic opera—left no room for variations. Each track played a vital role in narrating the story.

The deep, haunting soundscapes Anyma delivered intertwined beautifully with vibrant, energetic sequences, creating an enthralling soundtrack to the spectacular visuals. From tracks like “Consciousness” with Chris Avantgarde to “Pictures Of You” and “Hypnotized” featuring Ellie Goulding, I was utterly captivated by the stunning artistry displayed.

There were moments where it felt as if the Sphere itself was alive, and other times, I found the visuals, like the Sphere transforming into watching eyes, to be surreal.

Anyma’s Sphere Show: A Vision for the Future of Dance Music

As Anyma’s remix of The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” reverberated through the venue, I realized I was witnessing one of the most extraordinary shows of my life. It was a remarkable fusion of human creativity and technological prowess, a fitting tribute to the Afterlife boss who represents that very essence as the inaugural electronic artist to headline the Sphere.

This experience highlights a vibrant, hopeful future for the electronic music scene, though it’s uncertain how many artists could replicate such a feat at this point. The seamless integration of visuals and soundscapes, alongside the ability to sell out multiple nights, is no small achievement. Anyma deserves accolades for this incredible milestone. While it may take years for more artists to take on such a grand venue, Anyma’s show has undoubtedly set a new benchmark.

Regardless of what lies ahead, Anyma’s performance will be remembered as groundbreaking and historic, and I can only hope for his return to the Sphere in the future.
