You’ve earned a reputation for merging classic house with modern sensibilities. How does “You Got It All” exemplify or develop this signature sound?
I envisioned reviving the authentic raw house sound, featuring powerful kicks and real basslines, which I incorporated into “Say Yeah.” I felt this element was missing in the scene and in my sets. Now, I’m noticing more tracks from various producers that align with this approach, which is exciting.
The track balances underground house vibes with an upbeat energy. How do you create music that resonates with both club-goers and a broader audience?
It’s simply how I make music and what I enjoy. I never impose anything when creating a new track. I don’t add more vocals just for the sake of Spotify or radio. I trust that a good track will find its way to success.
Collaborating with D’Vision adds a unique flavor to this track. What was your experience working with him, and how did his style shape the final sound of “You Got It All”?
I met D’Vision a few years ago when he was a booker and resident DJ at a club in Poland. We quickly became friends and often played together, but it wasn’t until he sent me the first draft of the track that we considered collaborating. I knew it had potential but needed the “Say Yeah” touch I mentioned earlier. We crafted the track to reflect our shared style.
After releasing music on iconic labels like Defected and Toolroom, what motivated you to work with Claptone’s Golden Recordings for this project? How does this label fit into your artistic journey, and how do you typically approach such decisions?
I enjoy working with Claptone and his team. Following the success of “Love Desire,” I had another excellent release with Wh0, and “You Got It All” felt like the perfect continuation of our positive relationship.
As you kick off 2025 with this release, what lies ahead for both of you this year? Should fans anticipate more collaborations or individual projects that explore similar themes?
I’m balancing a busy touring schedule while raising two kids, so my studio time isn’t what it used to be. However, I have several projects in the pipeline, so I expect 2025 to be a fruitful year — likely more remixes than original tracks, but still exciting. By the way, I just remixed Patrick Topping on TRICK, which is worth checking out.
