Changes Ahead for Martin Garrix: What Fans Can Expect in 2025

Martin Garrix has been a leading figure in the EDM scene since his breakthrough hit “Animals” in 2013. As he gears up for 2025, fans might see a shift in his musical direction based on insights from a recent interview.

Radio RFM MAXX in Poland, Garrix (whose real name is Martijn Garritsen) shared his vision for the upcoming year. “I’m gonna do a little bit less shows this year, and release more — and also more pop stuff again,” he revealed.

Set to headline the largest UK concert of his career in August, Garrix expressed his desire to explore new creative avenues. He noted that 2024 was filled with “aggressive, very festival progressive Martin Garrix songs,” and he is eager to experiment in 2025. “I’ve been in the studio with some really cool, incredible artists and would like to finish those songs so we can systematically release them,” he said.

This isn’t the first time Garritsen has ventured into pop music; he has previously collaborated with big names like Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha, and Ed Sheeran. Currently, he is working on a project with 2021 American Idol standout Benson Boone.

Garritsen is not alone in his evolving approach to music. Fellow EDM icon Hardwell took a hiatus from touring from 2018 to 2022, and Calvin Harris has indicated that he doesn’t envision DJing past age 50.

As 2025 unfolds, fans of Martin Garrix will likely be treated to exciting announcements about new collaborations and musical explorations.
