Mark Sherry’s Journey in Electronic Music

From an outsider’s perspective, achieving success in the electronic music industry seems incredibly challenging. However, Mark Sherry has a different view, stating that the real challenge lies in maintaining that success. He skyrocketed to fame during his first studio session, landing in the top 5 of both the UK and international charts. Since then, he has continuously pushed forward, exemplifying a career fully immersed in the dance music scene. His latest album, ‘TH3RTY’, signifies both his years in the industry and the impressive track count of the album. Mark embodies the ethos of working hard and playing hard, and ‘TH3RTY’ represents that philosophy perfectly.

In a fitting manner, ‘TH3RTY’ not only showcases Mark’s growth but also pays homage to his past. The album features collaborations with up-and-coming talents like Adara, Brieanna Grace, and Kate Louise Smith, while also partnering with established artists such as The Space Brothers, Sarah Howells, and fellow Scot David Forbes. Mark has also taken the chance to remix timeless classics from Armin van Buuren, Mauro Picotto, and Westbam, infusing them with his unique sound. Additionally, he introduces a multi-track collection under a new alias, providing a glimpse into his future creative endeavors, and pays tribute to his late friend and bandmate Mallorca Lee, who passed away in 2024.

Mark describes the two-year production journey of ‘TH3RTY’ as an experience that goes beyond just blood, sweat, and tears. The album captures what it truly takes to remain at the forefront of the electronic music scene, showcasing dazzling, precise, and uplifting tracks. Scheduled for release on February 21, 2025, ‘TH3RTY’ promises to be a significant milestone in his career.

Determining the standout moments in the album is no simple task, but its unique structure makes it memorable. Mark has intentionally divided the album into sections, beginning with an explosive collection of production and vocal collaborations. Tracks like ‘Forever’ featuring Brieanna Grace, ‘Flammable’ with Adara, and ‘Heroes’ sung by Sarah Howells kick off the album with energy. The early ‘90s Balearic classic ‘In Spirit’ receives a modern twist, while collaborations with Sherry & The Space Brothers on ‘Angel’ and Peetu S & Emma Gillespie on ‘Open Ocean’ further elevate the experience. Mark also fulfills his remix ambitions with fresh takes on Westbam’s iconic ‘Wizards of the Sonic,’ Armin’s classic ‘Blue Fear,’ and Mauro Picotto’s ‘Iguana.’

As the first disc progresses, Mark reunites with David Forbes for the dynamic tech-trancer ‘Superposition,’ followed by a reimagined version of their earlier collaboration, ‘Tingles.’ The second disc continues to reflect Mark’s versatility, featuring solo tracks like ‘In The Darkness [I Find My Light],’ ‘Rave Is Life [We Play It Loud],’ and ‘Collide,’ alongside collaborations with Kriess Guyte, Systembreaker, and Gordon Tennant on ‘Who Loves U,’ ‘Break It,’ and ‘Heaven Is My XTC.’ A highlight of the album is the introduction of Mark’s new hard techno alias, Dark Sherry, which he debuted at Dreamstate SoCal in 2023. Collaborations with Freak Unique and Oshy 303 (son of Mallorca Lee) on ‘We Are Free’ and ‘The Only Way,’ alongside Mark’s solo tracks ‘Dance With Me’ and ‘We’re Gonna Rave,’ add to the album’s diversity.

The album concludes on a heartfelt note. After presenting ‘Our Little Game,’ his last collaboration with Mallorca Lee, Mark dedicates the final segment to his late friend. He remixes three of Mallorca’s early ‘90s Ultra-Sonic tracks (‘Obsession,’ ‘React,’ and ‘Love Me Right’), culminating with the tribute track ‘Mallorca’s Superstar [We Are The Universe]’ as the grand finale.

In summary, ‘TH3RTY’ encapsulates thirty years of Mark Sherry’s contributions to electronic music. With an album of this caliber, it’s impossible to overlook the dedication and passion behind it. ‘TH3RTY’ is now available for pre-order and will be released across all platforms on February 21.
