Although her initial exposure was primarily to house and techno, she soon realized those genres didn’t resonate with her as much.
A pivotal moment came when DSKRDIA witnessed Charlotte de Witte perform at a festival, captivated by the intensity of her set. This experience propelled her further into the world of hard techno, leading her to discover Sara Landry’s DEF Boiler Room set from 2021. While she enjoyed the energy, she initially doubted her ability to endure those sounds for extended periods. However, as she began producing and DJing, her craving for higher energy and heavier beats solidified her love for hard techno, transforming her music library to reflect her newfound passion.
Today, DSKRDIA is a prominent figure within Florida’s hard techno community, sharing her enthusiasm for hard music with dedicated audiences across the state. With a focus on elevating the genre, she encourages others to become active participants in the movement. To DSKRDIA, engagement is paramount.
My general advice for anyone going into a career in the scene is to leave the ego at the door and make yourself visible and useful. Don’t believe that people are going to simply know who you are if you don’t put yourself out there. Closed mouths don’t get fed! So show support, help build your local scene, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.
