Investigation Underway Following Alleged Sexual Assault at Berghain’s Panorama Bar

The world-renowned Berlin techno club Berghain is facing scrutiny as an alleged sexual assault incident has surfaced within its community. The incident reportedly took place in a restroom near the club’s Panorama Bar, drawing attention from Berlin’s State Criminal Police Office, which is actively investigating.

As reported by Berliner Zeitung, an online discussion suggests that on March 2, one attendee assaulted another in a bathroom outside the Panorama Bar. Reports also indicate that other individuals have experienced harassment and assault from the same person on different occasions.

Berghain resident Lakuti played a pivotal role in identifying the alleged assailant, as the victim claimed he mentioned being on her guest list that night. Lakuti has since faced threats of legal action from the accused for her role in publicizing the incident, despite their previous interactions being limited to discussions about music on social media.

The State Criminal Police Office (LKA 14) has confirmed that they are investigating the matter. A spokesperson stated that a specialized department for sexual offenses is currently conducting an inquiry, but details remain limited due to privacy considerations.

Since its opening in 2004, Berghain has gained international fame as one of the most iconic techno clubs, largely due to its notoriously selective entry policy. Initially rooted in the kink community, the club has evolved as techno tourism has surged, leading to a focus on high-profile DJ bookings.

Anyone with information related to the March 2 sexual assault incident at Berghain is urged to reach out to the State Criminal Police Office.
