Ja Rule Distances Himself from Fyre Festival 2 Amidst Controversy
In a move that surprises no one, Ja Rule has publicly declared that he will not be attending Fyre Festival 2.
Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, was a key figure in the original Fyre Festival, which took place in 2017 and ended in disaster, leaving attendees stranded on the Bahamian island of Exhumas with limited resources. Amid ongoing speculation about whether Billy McFarland has actually secured any talent for this new event, it was only natural for Rosanna Scotto from Fox 5 New York to ask Atkins about it during a recent interview.
“Oh lord, no he isn’t,” Atkins replied when Scotto mentioned McFarland’s attempts to revive Fyre Festival. He humorously changed the topic and added, “I’m not gonna be there, but cheers!”
Last month, tickets were released for Fyre Festival 2, including a staggering $1.1 million tier called “Prometheus.” Just days later, the tourism board of Isla Mujeres, the intended location for the event, denied any contact from the organizers regarding the festival. Furthermore, during an appearance on NBC’s Today show, McFarland dodged inquiries about whether any artists had confirmed their participation, even with the event dates of May 30 – June 2 approaching rapidly.
