Multi-talented producer GRiZ makes a grand return after almost two years with the unexpected launch of the GEMiNI EP.
Fans are thrilled as GRiZ comes back after an indefinite break of nearly two years. Following his announcement on March 11 regarding his return to the music scene, excitement around GRiZ has been palpable. His welcome-back festival, Seven Stars, sold out almost instantly, and his Instagram return announcement racked up over 13,000 comments, showcasing the eagerness of his fanbase for new music.
During his hiatus, fans speculated about when GRiZ would drop new tracks. Their questions have been answered with the surprise release of the GEMiNI EP, which debuted on Apple Music on March 21. The project quickly became available across all streaming platforms, reminding listeners of GRiZ’s exceptional production skills. This release marks his first official music since the send-off EP, Ouroboros, earlier in 2023.
The EP opens with “Found Your Love,” which captures the spirit of his 2013 album, Mad Liberation. This uplifting glitch-hop track features rich vocals intertwined with GRiZ’s signature soulful saxophone. The only collaboration on the EP, “Take Me Home,” showcases the vocal talents of Grabbitz and marks GRiZ’s first venture into melodic dubstep, highlighted by heartfelt lyrics and an energetic second drop.
As the EP progresses, the electrifying “2-step Nassau” perfectly blends punchy brass horns with rumbling bass. The journey concludes with “Til The Color Fades,” a funky, genre-blending track that ends with a final saxophone solo, embodying GRiZ’s unique style.
