TLUXX Discusses Collaboration with Adara on “Destination” and His Musical Journey
Los Angeles-based DJ and producer TLUXX has experienced an incredible journey to reach his current status in the electronic music scene. Hi TLUXX, thank you for chatting with us today. Before we dive into your recent work, let’s explore your past a bit. After facing a cancer diagnosis, you discovered a passion for electronic music, leading you to pursue DJing and producing. What were those early years like for you, and how did they contribute to your recovery?
Honestly, I felt completely lost. My initial dream was to become a professional baseball player, but my illness stripped that away. Music became my lifeline, providing me with new passions, goals, and friendships. It was pivotal to my recovery.
You advanced your career by studying at ICON Production School and Berklee College of Music. While both institutions helped you enhance your music production skills, did you find any additional benefits from these courses?
Absolutely. ICON was crucial in teaching me the fundamentals of music production; they provided hands-on guidance that helped me create music I was proud of. Berklee then took that foundation and refined my craft. The knowledge I gained there, not just in music production but also in theory and the business side, was invaluable.

Congratulations on your new single, “Destination”! This track features Adara’s beautiful vocals. Can you share the story behind your collaboration with her?
I met Adara during a studio session last year with my friends at Nilsix (Orjan Nilsen & Mark Sixma). We were songwriting together and clicked instantly. I had an instrumental that was perfect for her voice, and through collaboration, we crafted “Destination”!
“Destination” was released on AVA Recordings, a label where you’ve recently found a home with tracks like “Virus” and “Tell Me Why.” Do you think their support has contributed to your career growth?
Their support has been incredibly meaningful to me. Being part of their label feels like joining a family within the industry. Everyone there is talented, and co-owner Somna has taken me under his wing. I am very thankful for this opportunity.
Next month, you’ll be performing alongside Somna in Los Angeles. What can fans expect from your set? Will you be debuting any new tracks?
Fans can expect rhythm, groove, vibes, and energy—ranging from progressive house to melodic techno and trance. There will definitely be some fresh tunes in the mix!

You also have your debut in Canada coming up, supporting Morgan Page in Calgary. After that, what international destination is on your radar?
I hope to return to Croatia someday, but right now, I’m focused on Japan. It seems like the next logical step in my journey.
Trance music has seen fluctuations in popularity over the years, yet it significantly influences other genres. What are your thoughts on the current state of trance and its impact on melodic house and techno?
As someone who wasn’t initially a trance enthusiast, I find the evolving scene fascinating. I’ve even begun exploring techno myself. It’s true that many trance elements are merging with other genres, making it easier to mix styles. In the future, I anticipate witnessing more variations of trance alongside its deep-rooted styles.
Lastly, what goals do you have for the coming months? Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I simply want to keep releasing music and performing shows. As long as I can do that consistently, I’ll be fulfilled. Expect more releases and some surprise shows in the near future!
Thanks for having me!
