Heavy Rain Causes Temporary Pause at Ultra Music Festival Mainstage
Fans returning to Ultra Music Festival after experiencing last year’s event may feel a sense of déjà vu as organizers were forced to briefly halt programming due to severe weather conditions.
A message displayed on the LED screen at the Mainstage around 2pm ET warned, “DUE TO THE STORM PLEASE EVACUATE NOW.” Social media posts showed images of considerable puddles gathering near the stage.
Shortly thereafter, Ultra’s organizers provided an update on Instagram, stating, “Due to weather in the area, the show is being temporarily paused. Please seek shelter. Additional information to follow.”
Less than 20 minutes later, programming resumed, with a follow-up post on Ultra’s Instagram announcing, “The event has restarted.”
According to AccuWeather, storms are expected to persist into the early evening, leaving uncertainty about potential further interruptions in the festival’s schedule.
Last year’s Ultra Music Festival faced early closures on Friday and delays on Saturday, and it was not the only festival impacted by adverse weather conditions. Other events like Movement Detroit and Electric Forest also experienced significant evacuations during their 2024 festivities.
This year’s Ultra Music Festival lineup features prominent artists such as Skrillex, John Summit, Dom Dolla, Carl Cox, Subtronics, and Miss Monique. Additionally, Dimension, deadmau5, and I Hate Models are set to perform later today, marking the festival’s final day.
