Australian bass-metal producer PhaseOne has unveiled “PULSE,” a track inspired by metal-core breaks, featuring bassist Harlan Allen-Jones and vocalist Joshua O’Donnell from Melbourne’s metal band Banks Arcade. Now available on all streaming platforms via PhaseOne’s own Sounds Of Mayhem label, “PULSE” paves the way for PhaseOne’s upcoming sophomore album, Terranova, which he describes as his “most ambitious project yet.” Reflecting on this release, PhaseOne mentions he has never created anything like “PULSE” before, but he is thrilled with the outcome. “It was a lot of fun to write,” says the influential bass music artist, adding,
“‘PULSE’ is a high-energy, metalcore-inspired breaks track—a genre I’d never experimented with before, but one I’m glad I did. Josh from Banks Arcade nailed the vocals, bringing everything together perfectly. The track has a pulsating rhythm that drives its energy. I’ve played it at a few shows now—each time, it gets the crowd bouncing. It’s got that infectious groove that really sticks with you!”
As the current cover of Spotify’s official Rocktronic playlist, PhaseOne continues to innovate within this emerging genre. With the release date of his sophomore album near, make sure to stream “PULSE,” featuring Banks Arcade, below.
