Wajeed’s Underground Music Academy Debuts Showcase at Movement Detroit 2025
Attendees of Movement Detroit are eagerly anticipating the 2025 festival happening next month. To heighten excitement, the organizers have unveiled stage-specific lineups and showcase details for the event scheduled for May 24-26 at Hart Plaza in Detroit.
The lineup, which was announced and later sorted by day in February, will feature performances across six stages: the Movement Stage, Stargate Stage, Underground Stage, Pyramid Stage, Detroit Stage, and Waterfront Stage, the latter sponsored by JARS Cannabis.
Movement Detroit continues its tradition of featuring local tastemakers for stage takeovers, with this year highlighting exclusively Detroit artists.
Carl Craig’s Detroit Love will host a showcase at the Stargate Stage on Saturday, followed by Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records taking over the Pyramid Stage on Sunday. On the same day, Wajeed’s Underground Music Academy will present its inaugural takeover at the Detroit Stage, while DJ Minx’s House Your Life will curate the Pyramid Stage on Monday.
Since its inception as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000, and after exploring various branding strategies, Movement Detroit has evolved into a premier annual event for enthusiasts of techno, house, and related genres from around the world. This year’s festival promises headliners such as Jeff Mills, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Ben UFO, Stacey Pullen, Nina Kraviz, and Claude VonStroke.
Tickets for Movement Detroit are currently available in the Wave 2 tier, starting at $319 for all three days. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the event website.
