In this conversation, we delve into the inspiration behind the EP and the creative journey that brought it to fruition, offering a deeper understanding of Chewna’s artistry and a preview of the future music and performances he has in store.

Hi Chewna, how are you?

I’m doing fantastic, thank you! I’m feeling inspired and eager about what lies ahead.

Let’s rewind to the beginning—what sparked the initial idea for ‘Infinity’?

The concept for ‘Infinity’ emerged from a desire to encapsulate a feeling of endless energy and flow. It aimed to convey that sense of timelessness you experience when immersed in music on a dancefloor.

How did you shape the creative direction for this EP? Was there a specific theme or emotion you aimed to explore sonically?

I wanted to delve into deeper emotional layers supported by a strong rhythmic foundation. The aim was to intertwine melodic components with driving beats, striking a balance that feels right for both the car radio and a festival main stage.

Both tracks feature a pronounced rhythmic and percussive quality—what influenced those elements in particular?

Percussion plays a vital role in my production style. I draw significant inspiration from Afro and Latin rhythms, as they infuse dynamic movement and depth. I aimed to incorporate these elements to give each track its distinctive pulse.

How did the creation processes differ between ‘Infinity’ and ‘Running’? Were they developed simultaneously or did they grow independently?

They actually developed separately. ‘Infinity’ came together fairly quickly, guided by a clear vision from the outset, while ‘Running’ required more time for refinement, evolving through experimentation until it felt right.

What was your approach to the vocal work on this project? What draws you to incorporating vocals into your productions?

Vocals add emotional depth and a human touch to Electronic Music, which I deeply appreciate. For this EP, I sought vocals that complemented the tracks both rhythmically and melodically, serving as a focal point while also adding layers of texture.

What challenges did you encounter during the production process? Were there moments when the direction shifted unexpectedly?

Definitely—there were times when I needed to step back and reevaluate. Particularly with ‘Running,’ I initially faced challenges with the arrangement. It began as something much busier, but streamlining it ended up being exactly what the track needed.

In what ways does ‘Infinity’ reflect your current artistic state—and where do you envision your sound evolving next?

‘Infinity’ truly encapsulates my current artistic direction, blending melodic complexity with rhythmic intensity. Moving forward, I aim to further explore that balance and possibly dive deeper into melodic experimentation.

‘Infinity’ has already gained traction, reaching #8 on the Beatport Melodic House & Techno chart – can you share what this achievement means to you and how you aspire to build on this success?

It’s an amazing feeling and incredibly validating to receive such support. It inspires me to keep pushing creatively. I’m excited to build on this momentum with more music and expanding my live sets.

Finally, what’s on the horizon? Can fans look forward to more releases or live performances soon?

Absolutely! I have new tracks in the works and some exciting gigs lined up. Stay tuned—I’ll be sharing more information soon, but I’ve already announced performances at Eden, Ibiza, Ministry of Sound in London, and several other fantastic venues.

As our discussion concludes, we extend our gratitude to Chewna for his time and for sharing insights into the creative vision behind his ‘Infinity’ EP.
